As a skater and longtime fan of DC’s iconic skate aesthetic, Anwar Carrots helped design a collection that celebrates the golden era of skateboarding.
The DC X Carrots collection stands out with a hi-viz Lynx OG built with a special reflective orange upper. It also features two custom colorways of the newly-released Manteca 4. The Manteca was a skate and streetwear favorite in the early 2000s, and DC is giving it some modern tech and a slightly slimmer silhouette that brings the classic cup sole into 2021.
The collection also includes a premium apparel pack featuring two hats, two heavyweight 250-gram tees, and a full 450-gram fleece set. The entire collection is co-branded with custom DC logos designed by Anwar himself.
DC’s Head of Marketing, Michael Minter, explained the brands’ excitement on working with Carrots and the significance of reintroducing the Manteca. "Working with Anwar has been a creative highlight for DC. His ability to be bold and fun while paying close attention to quality and detail made for a compelling collaboration. This was definitely the perfect partnership for us to bring back the Manteca and we are really excited to see this all come to life."
Carrots Creative Director, Anwar Carrots "I'm just honestly grateful to be accepted by the skate community by way of friends in that World! Thank you to DC shoes for the love and for embracing and trusting my vision. Shout out my boy Ish doing his thing; it's beautiful seeing someone of my descent and background crushing boundaries in fields outside of what is the norm for humans of my complexion."
The DC X Carrots Collection drops worldwide on January 15, 2022.
