Meet Torquay's Newest Brand, A Purveyor of Old-School Authenticity and Good Vibes.

If you grew up in Torquay, you would already be familiar with the Garrard family. Perhaps by way of their rowdy laughter or their various businesses, including G Boards, Joy Mill Surfboards, and Dick Garrard Olympic Coaching. Enter the newest business kid on the family block, OXIE., an apparel brand designed to make people look good, feel good, and love life.
OXIE. is as authentic as it gets for a surf and skate brand. It's created and bootstrapped by its founder Sophie Garrard, an artist, teacher, and surfer with 15 years of surf retail experience. Since the 1980's Sophie has watched Torquay surf brands grow from hyper-local t-shirt companies to global phenomenons and knows how important it is to start small and grow sustainably.
With a family history deeply entrenched in surfing and Olympic rowing, the Garrards must have water flowing through their veins.
The best brands are felt, not simply bought. Inspired by this, OXIE. is a walking canvas, and the brand name is inspired by the human hormone Oxytocin, AKA the natural feel-good hormone.
Feeling good is the intention behind OXIE.; I want OXIE.'s good vibes to transmit to our customers. Every detail in the logo and design is carefully considered to maximise OXIE.'s feel-good energy.
Sophie Garrard, Founder, OXIE.
OXIE.'s debut collection is trans-seasonal and includes t-shirts and beanies in a muted coastal bush palette of pistachio, sage, camel, yellow, petrol blue.
OXIE. beanies and tees are available now, exclusively via the OXIE website.
