As part of their Push Your Own Story video series, DC Shoes is releasing a mini-documentary featuring brand co-founder Ken Block. The ongoing PYOS video campaign spotlights athletes, artists, and innovators that embrace the DC spirit—being DC's c0-founder, Block's story is a logical fit.
Since he helped launch DC in 1994 alongside Damon Way, Ken Block has always pushed progression in skateboarding. Not only did his influence shape DC into the global brand that it is today, but it impacted skate culture as we know it today. And now in auto racing, Block has had a similar impact—racking up numerous wins, breaking records, and amassing a huge following, all while building game-changing brands and completely redefining the sport. Whether behind the wheel or the desk, Ken pushes the limits of everything he touches.
In the film, Block gives a fascinating insight into his inspiration for starting DC, and his approach to growing and running a brand.
The idea for starting DC came from us seeing the opportunity to make shoes for skateboarders.

Last year, DC linked back up with Block to help relaunch one of their most technical shoes, the Versatile. The Ken Block colorways were based on some of his favorite auto liveries of the last decade. They sold out so quickly that DC decided to bring them back into the lineup.
This project comes off the heels of the recent reveal of Block’s new Hoonipigasus Porsche 911 for his forthcoming Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race where he will continue to push the limits of auto racing.
