DC Shoes serve the sauce with the launch of an all-new red colorway for the recently launched Shanahan Pro.
The Shanahan Pro is DC's first all-new pro skate silhouette in a minute, and people are hyped. Teaming up with New York-based team rider John Shanahan who worked closely on the design, the Shanahan Pro pays homage to DC's rich skate archive with its classic, low-cut design, iconic branding, and high-impact product detailing found on many of DC's most revered heritage pro models.
Shanahan is garnering a lot of attention in recent months, notably landing the cover of Thrasher's current print edition, one of the highest honors in skateboarding.
The Shanahan Pro pays homage to DC's rich skate archive with its classic, low-cut design, iconic branding, and high-impact product detailing found on many of DC's most revered heritage-pro models. The Shanahan Pro includes a TPR heel logo, the stabilizer-injected TPU detachable strap, and the EVA heel cradle.
The Shanahan Pro features modern fabrication upgrades, including premium materials and innovative technology. The impact-resistant sole ensures that the shoe can withstand even the toughest skate sessions while maintaining a superior board feel - the Shanahan Pro is the perfect blend of style and performance, carefully curated by Shanahan himself.
My goal was to create a shoe that fits the late 90s/early 2000s DC aesthetic but was also entirely new. I studied some of my favorite DC models, such as the Howard 2, the LYNX, the Legacy, and a few others. I wanted to try to incorporate some of my favorite features from those models while adding my own flair to them. The main focus was style and performance. I really wanted to make something that would stand the test of time and still be wearable/skateable in 20+ years.
